State Park
It rained real hard last night and this morning so I was off to check out the roads in the forest.
I headed up into the state park and found some big trees were down on the road. I stopped to chat a bit with this lady then detoured around this road and headed up into the forest to check things out.
Rock slide area
The rock slide looked good and it hadn’t slid anymore, so I moved on up the road.
I stopped here to fix this so water didn’t go down the road, but drained off the side.
Like this, that’s better.
Most of the road in the park that I was working on getting it rocked looked pretty good, like this.
New slide
However, I ran into this new slide from last night’s rain.
The slide wasn’t too bad as it didn’t close the road and rigs could get by it and it was still too wet to clean clean out anyway.
From there, I moved on down to our property to check it out. Lots of water coming off the hills.
The dam was a bit too high at this crossing so I lowered the dam a bit.
It looks a bit better once most of the water drained out.
Waterfall
Next I headed on over to the waterfall to check it out.
Lots of green ferns on the way up to the waterfall.
The waterfall slows down a lot as soon as the rains slow down.
Ridge top
Then I headed on up to the ridge top for this view. It started to rain lightly while I was up there, so I started heading for home.
This tree had fallen on the road, but it was easy to get past it. Good thing as I had no tools with me on the dirt bike. Of course I could just go around it on another road if I couldn’t get by it.
Park guys
I went back down the hill through the state park as the big trees kept some of the light rain off me.
The park guys almost had the downed tree stuff cleaned up.
I made it home and went in the house to warm up a bit.
