Raining
I put my rain gear on this morning and got in Hondo and headed up through the state park. It was raining real hard as I entered the forest.
But it was real nice out, just the same. Not many people in the park today.
I headed up this road to check out the road I’ve been working on to check it out. The road is doing well with all the rain we’ve been getting. I’ll try to get some more rock on it when the rain slows down a bit, but at least it was open and the slides have slowed down, which is good.
Clearing roads
Since that road was ok, I went back over to our place to remove some trees that had fallen across the roads, if I could remember where they were on the roads.
I found this one and removed it with the chainsaw.
This was the next one. I cut it all up.
But was too warm and tired out after cutting it up, so left it for clearing up for later.
This one was pretty easy so I got it all off the road.
I had one more I remembered over at my cousin’s place so I went over to cut it out, another easy one.
Fire crew
I think that was all of the downed trees and it was enough work for one day. I drove on over to Jim’s place to see how the fire crew was doing. They are four or five young guys and gals with chainsaws doing fire prevention. They are cleaning up the forest a bit removing the under brush and small trees to thin things out. See the guy up there?
Here’s another one. I think this one is a gal.
Darn if there wasn’t more work for me to do.
I cut this one into smaller logs but left them to remove for later.
I headed on home from there to a nice warm house for a nap.
Nice day.
