Rains
Last night it rained real hard, so this morning I headed up to the old road I’ve been working on to see what those rains did to the old road.
I drove on up though the state park on this road.
I went by this nice little creek in the park.
And also drove over this little creek.
And on up this road to the old road I’ve been working on.
I stopped here to check out the slide which is behind the rig.
The slide
There was a lot of mushy dirt and rocks that came down on that slide. Almost blocking the road. I needed to clean this up as more stuff might come down and block the road.
Skidder
I needed to get my Skidder that was parked at the top of the hill, here, and got Skiddy started up to warm up.
I hauled dirt and rocks to this spot and dumped it here to dry out as I will put it on the road when it does dry out a bit. Just too mushy right now to put on the road.
I’ve moved over half of the slide.
Looking up at the slide, y0u can see things are not very stable and I expect more of this slide to come down, either real soon or during the next heavy rains.
I just have a little more of the slide to move. I worked on moving that slide for about three hours.
I rode Skiddy back up the hill to where I keep it and headed for home for a nap. Most of this last storm with the heavy rains has passed, so maybe that slide is finished sliding for now.
I sat outside with the chickens for awhile, before putting them in for the night.
