Road check
Even though it’s not raining right now, I still need to go up and check on the road, mostly to make some plans on how to improve the bad spots where water needs to be diverted off the road to make it better. The more I look at it, the better job I can do to improve things as I can figure out better ways to improve it.
So, up through the park I went.
Being Saturday, lots of people are in the park enjoying the big trees. I just putter past them and smile and wave at them. I think they think I”m a ranger. Most are friendly and wave and smile back.
Old dirt road
Most of the dirt road is in pretty good shape, especially considering how much rain we’ve had this winter.
Wet spots
I stopped here and walked up and down the road to looking to improve the wet spot here, most of it being in back of my rig where you can’t see. Most of the wet spots are being caused by springs popping out of the hillside and running down the road and making it muddy when it rains.
After that, I rode on over to a neighbor’s place as he said he’d be home today, but he wasn’t there, but at least it was a nice ride to his place and back.
After that, I rode down this road on our place and stopped to throw some of the brush off the road from a big fir tree that fell down during a storm.
I worked my way back down to my house for a nap.
A bit later, I watched Tom take his tire off to find the puncture he got in it. He got the tire off and took it down to some tire guys to repair it.
Enjoying the day
The rest of the day, I sat around with the chickens, just enjoying the day and the sunshine.
The hens like to hunt through most everything and turn it over looking for bugs, worms, and seeds to eat.
