Moving Skiddy’s Bucket and Blade to Set Things Up to Improve the Water Crossings On the Old Dirt Road

Helping a neighbor

A neighbor by my house asked me to help him level out a carport, so I had to go up and bring Skiddy down the hill, first thing today, so I could help him out.

I drove Skiddy down the hill and we got the neighbor’s leveling done in about a half hour.

Then I had to drive Skiddy back up the hill to leave the bucket up there as i wanted to go back down and get the six way blade and take it up the hill to use soon.

I’m headed back up the hill with the bucket I want to leave up there.

I dropped the bucket off near the top of the hill where I’m working on the old dirt road. It has quick disconnects which makes the job of disconnecting things relatively easy.

I want the bucket and the blade up there so I can change it back and forth as needed to fix the water crossing ditches up.

Once the bucket was off, I headed back down the hill to my house and put the blade on it.

And then, I headed back up the hill with the blade.

I parked here with the blade and fueled up Skiddy so it would be ready for work.

The not so good type of water crossing

That task was done, so now I headed down the old dirt road to have a look at some of the water crossings I plan to repair soon. I dug this one out with the shovel to get the water to cross the road and not run down it.

And I stopped here at this one to have a look at it as it’s the one I want to copy as it drains the water well and cars can cross it without hitting their bottoms. It’s built just right and cars don’t even know they just crossed a drainage ditch. It’s hard to see it as it blends real well and that’s why it works so well.
