I’m waiting for a tow truck to arrive near Janesville CA. My injectors aren’t delivering any gas to the engine. We hope to be towed to Johnsonville Just a few miles away.
I’ve posted about six blogs today. Look in the sidebar for Recent posts to help find them.
That’s it for now.

Mining claim camp
We’d camped here before, a few nights ago. We’re back because it sets us up to do some more exploring, up in the hills from here. That mining is across the creek. I tried to find a way to cross the creek, but no way without getting soaking wet.
There was no easy way to get across the creek. When I was a kid, I’d of just waded across, getting a bit wet in the process. The creek was three or four feet deep.
Computer hinge repair
Last night I noticed that the other hinge on my computer had broken loose, so I spent some time epoxying the hinge. In the process of trying to get the hinge back into place with a screwdriver, I broke some of the display screen. I was hoping the computer would still work, which I would test after the epoxy set in ten hours.
Next day, the 7th
We loaded up the vans and got ready to go exploring for the day. I set up the repaired computer and started it up. To my surprise, it works just fine, which is good as it’s my main navigation tool out in these forests.
Exploring the high country
We headed out going up this road that climbed up into the hilltops.
We stopped here for a break and to warm up in the sun.
All burned up
The view from the road. Most of this area we are going through today has had very bad forest fires up here in the last few years that burned most of the trees down, or at least killed them so there is very little green, but the views are nice without the trees.
We stopped here for another break and to check something out.
The forest has burned for as far as we can see.
There were still a few trees left. The roads were pretty good too.
Camp spot
We were looking for a place to camp and finally found some trees to pull into for the night.
Without all the trees, the sunset was good too.
We’ll likely come off these mountains tomorrow and find some cell service near Jamesville Ca. and some gas too.
Nice day.

There are over a hundred pictures that are served up randomly every time you visit or change pages. They are of earlier pictures of interest and also some just to remind me of things.
A Sony AX33 4K, a video camera that takes stills too. What am I doing with that? I take pictures from my Kayak a lot. I found I was missing interesting shots, because my pic was being processed in my camera, before it would let me take another pic. Since I like to take what I call action stills, I bought this camera to take videos, that I could make stills out of, but, as a bonus, this camera also came with buttons to just take stills and that's what I mostly do, unless something is real interesting or too far away for my still zooms. My digilat zoom setting for video goes to two hundred x, and sometimes I need that, but usually, I only use the 10x lens zoom. Because this camera is HD and 4K, the quality has to be real good and it has a lot of stabilizers on it which really helps out a lot for taking pics on the water.
The other thing it has that is a must is a view finder and I had to buy Sony's top of the line cam to get it. This is a must for taking pics on the water, as you must hold the camera as still as posible and putting that eye piece to the eye forms a tripod with your arms that helps a lot. The eye piece is also a must as it works way better than a LED screen to see what you are taking a picture of in the daylight as the LED screens wash out easily in sunlight.
I also have another video camera, a Canon VIXIA G30. I use them both to mostly take stills. The Sony takes higher resolution stills than the G30. That was a bit of a disappointment as I bought the G30 to replace an older camera I dunked in the river, but then had to buy the Sony to get higher still picture resolution that the G30 was lacking.
