Prepping for rock
With so much sunshine I decided to prep the next section of the old dirt road for rock. It’s an easy section with very little water popping out of the ground from springs and it’s not very steep either and it’s short.
So, I got up there around 1 and got the old bulldozer warmed up and worked on that today. It needed some transmission oil, which I had and so I filled that up and got with it.
I worked until dark on it and got it done with no real problems. I only had to deal with one spring crossing the road. I always seem to have problems getting these ditch crossing right as, as soon as a car goes by, they seem to make the water run down the road again with their little ruts the tires make. I just have to make them bigger, I think, as I don’t like the water to run down the road which messes it up a bit.
Anyway, I have it ready for the state park guys to rock it in the future when dump trucks can get up the road. It’s a steep road and when it rains, it can get a bit slimy, that’s why it needs to be rocked.
Good to have that part done.
Nice day.
