Setting Skiddy Up To Open the Neighbors Road

Thursday April 3, 2025 Guerneville CA.

I needed to get Skiddy back up into the hills as I have some work to do for some  neighbors, way in the back country. I drove my side by side up to my cousin’s and asked her to take me home where I could get Skiddy and then drive my side by side back up in the hills where I’d leave Skiddy to do some work tomorrow. She’s learning to drive my side by side so is happy to do this.

Here’s Skiddy and I just pulled up to fuel Skiddy up with diesel, so it would be ready to go to work tomorrow.rigs1

He’s a sorta problem

With that taken care of I drove on down to where I’ll be working, to visit with Cliff, who I’ll be helping out. I found him on his place. We discussed what needs to be done with opening the road. The road goes through another neighbor’s place who doesn’t like the neighbors going through his place. They have legal right of ways so nothing he can do about it. Anyway, he’s a sorta problem.

Interesting enough, that neighbor’s road is closed, washed out, and  he’s been using the road I’ve been working on and he has no legal right of way for this road. He doesn’t like neighbors using the road on his place, but he thinks it’s just fine if he uses their other road that he has no legal right to use.

All this is all the other neighbors problem and I try to remain neutral on the subject.

Anyway, I  hope he doesn’t blow his top as it’s actually in his own interest to get the road opened up.

This is the ranch that Cliff owns. A nice piece of property, way back in the hills.ranch

Creek crossing

On the way out, I stopped to check out a creek crossing I have to cross as the old bridge there doesn’t look strong enough to hold up Skiddy. There’s a rather deep water hole right where I need to cross the creek, so I’ll have to be real careful not to get stuck.

From there, I headed for home and a nap.

Nice day.
