Shoe repair
I meant to glue my shoes up last night but I never got to it, so that’s the first thing I did today. I put some epoxy on them and used tape to hold them together until the glue set.
Fueling Skiddy
I fueled up Skiddy as I needed to take it up into the hills by the rock slide and leave it there to use it tomorrow to help the park guys move some rock onto a road in the park that needed some repairs.
As long as I was going up into the hills, I stopped to pick up a load of rocky dirt for a spot up on one of the roads on the way up.
I made it up to the rock slide area and parked Skiddy there. Now I had to get back home, so I had a bit of a walk to do to get down there from here, a couple of miles, mostly down hill, so it wasn’t too bad.
I started my walk headed down this road.
When I got to this overlook with the chair, I stopped to take a break and enjoy the day a bit, before continuing on down a trail from this spot.
I headed down this trail as I wanted to check it out to see what kind of work I needed to do to finish this trail this winter.
I stopped for a break at these chairs and then carried one of them further down the trail as I’d need it later when I worked on the trail.
A lot of the trail is in good shape and I made good time.
Big tree down
However, when I got to this spot, there was a huge fir tree that had fallen across the trail that I needed to work my way around.
It looked like the tree had fallen over because it got too heavy and just pulled it’s roots out of the ground and slide down the hill a bit, across the trail. I’m thinking I may just be able to go under the tree with the trail as getting it out of here would be real dangerous as it’s on a steep slope.
From there the trail got much better on the ridge back as I’d completed this section last year during the winter.
I moved along fairly fast in this area as the trail was go good.
Park guys
I made it down to my house for a quick break as I needed to get up to the park to talk with some of the park guys about what we were going to do tomorrow to move the rocks. It was the end of their work day, so there’s a little time I can catch them before they leave for their homes.
We chatted about the work and shot the bull a bit, then I went on home for the day.
Nice day.
