Road work
I had some rock to haul to a water crossing today. I needed to harden it up so the state park dump truck could cross it without sinking while it was loaded with rock. I rode on up to where Skiddy was parked. I needed to fuel it up so that’s what I did first as it was almost empty of fuel from working it yesterday.
Once it was fueled up, I also greased up the machine and then started it up to warm it up and headed up to get a load of rock for the crossing. I hauled about four loads of rock to the crossing and smoothed it out.
Checked out this road
That was all I wanted to do today with Skiddy, so I parked it and drove Hondo back down the road and parked where the side road took off that I cleared of fallen trees yesterday. I walked down the road to check it out.
This is the side road I cleared many downed trees off the road yesterday as I walked along it to check it out.
I only was getting the road open yesterday and will need to go back down it with Skiddy to finish it off and make it nice.
I walked back up the road to where Hondo was parked.
From there, I headed on home for a nap.
Firewood
After a good nap, I rode Hondo up into the hills for a ride. I made it up to this spot where Barry had been earlier cutting firewood. He’d fallen a big madrone tree and was cutting it up for firewood. He’d gone home for the day before I got there.
I noticed the wild iris were just starting to bloom.
And I stopped at the pond for a bit.
On the way back home, I stopped at my brother Tom’s chicken coup to pick up a watering container for my chickens. He doesn’t do chickens any more so he no longer needs the watering system there. I picked it up and took it home.
Water for the chickens
After another nap, I went out to my chicken pen and got the water container installed and hooked up to water.
I also hooked up the automatic watering system for my blueberry patch and trimmed out a bunch of raspberry plants that were over taking my blueberry bushes.
Nice day.
