State park guys
I needed to talk with my state park contact about some road repairs we’ve been discussing to bring him up on my most recent plans to do the upgrade. I was just dropping in hoping to catch him in his office. Well, he was in, but they were having a big meeting.
But it was almost lunch time so one of the head guys suggested I wait a bit until lunch time and the guy would talk with me during lunch, which worked for me.
I chatted with the lady here for awhile, while I was waiting.
Chat
We had our chat and agreed on what I need to do. He mentioned he could bring a dozer in from another area and thinking on that, I think I’ll take him up on that instead of using our dozer, that way I don’t have to be concerned about break downs, as our dozer is old and more likely to break down then one of their newer ones.
I get along well with the guy so it’s easy to come to agreements on what needs to be done.
Anyway, I was pleased with the meeting.
Skiddy’s blade
Skiddy’s six way blade is at the John Deere shop where I’m trying to get some warranty work done on it as it has a problem with it’s controls. The problem is the problem is intermittent and doesn’t show up much so they are having a hard time finding the problem, so I felt some head to head time might help solve the problem.
Telephones aren’t always the best way
I’ve found though the years that the best way to get stuff done is engage people head to head instead of using things like the phone as usually, once they get to know you, things become more personable and things are more likely to get done to your satisfaction.
So I talked with the service manager about my concerns getting the blade fixed to my satisfaction and how if we don’t get the intermittent problem fixed, under warranty, I’m stuck with a new blade I bought that is defective and would then just have to fix it myself.
I told him I wouldn’t need the blade for about a month so he had plenty of time to test it out to try and find the intermittent problem which he said he’d do. I know what’s wrong with it, but they have to duplicate the problem for warranty work. I doubt they will be able to duplicate the problem as it’s too intermittent, but I believe they will figure a way to fix it under warranty, after talking with the guy head to head.
I was satisfied with the conversation I had with the guy.
Costco shopping
As long as I was in the shopping area, I went over to Costco to stock up on stuff for me to eat. Right now, with my corn problem, I ‘m eating mostly meat which seems to be helping a bit with the corn problem.
Once home I unloaded my haul and took it easy for the rest of the day.
