Barry showed up in my yard this morning for a dirt bike ride, but I had work to do.
But I got an email from the park guys saying they couldn’t do rock on Thursday so Barry and I rode up to the park shop to see what was going on. Another park wanted their excavator so prepping the road for rock today didn’t need to happen so I decided to go for a bike ride with Barry,………….But.
Rock slide
On the way out of the park a ranger stopped me to tell me the rock slide slid again.
Barry and I rode up to check it out. Lots of rock came down blocking the road completely.
I took Barry back to my house so he could get his dirt bike and go for a ride. I rode Hondo up into the hills where I had Skiddy parked and got it started up to warm up.
I had about a half mile to get down to the slide.
I worked on clearing that slide all day. The good thing is that the rock from the slide was real good road base so I worked on spreading it out on the road, out sloping-it to improve it’s water drainage. Now i don’t have to haul rock to that spot.
I left just after four and headed for home. But first I fueled up Skiddy. When I got home, I realized I hadn’t closed the back tailgate and I’d lost a fuel can somewhere on the way home so back I went and retrieved that fuel can which wasn’t far from were Skiddy is parked.
Fresh crab for dinner, thanks to Tom who has been out in the ocean fishing for them.
