Big tree down
I rode Hondo up to meet Jim who was doing some chainsaw work on the road I’ve been repairing. He was cutting logs and just throwing wood debris off the side of the road so I wouldn’t get tangled up in it in Skiddy as I worked on the road.
As I arrived he said he just got a call that a big tree had fallen across the road just below us and was blocking the road. Since he had his chainsaw he was going down there to cut it off the road.,,,,,,,,,,,But.

There were several other neighbors there in their cars blocked by the big tree.
And a half dozen or so state park trail maintenance guys showed up to cut the tree off the road, a bunch of younger guys, so we let them go to it. That was nice, we didn’t expect the park guys, so now we could just sit around and shoot the bull, watching them make quick work of that tree.
Jim and I went back up the road and I talked with him about what he needed to do, to clear along the road to make it easier for me to run Skiddy. Jim said the park guys said they’d clear the road as they went out which was nice of them, so he only had to do the upper road.
I was shooting the bull with Jim when Barry showed up on his dirt bike. I filled Barry in on what had happened and said I’d meet him at my place where I could switch to my dirt bike and we’d go for a forest ride.
Forest ride
So, I met Barry at my place and we took off up into the hills for a ride. We rode around a bit then stopped at this spring for a drink of water.
We rode over to the road where the big tree fell to see what they had done. Jim was there cutting up some firewood they had left him.
We stopped to check out the downed trees that were leaning over my cousin’s water tank.
Forest walk
Barry, being a retired surveyor, wanted to see if he could find a property marker pipe he was tracking with an app on his phone, so we parked here and took off for a walk in the forest looking for the pipe.
We walked through here following the phone app.
And over these down trees, but didn’t find the pipe.
It’s always nice to get back to the bikes after a walk in the forest especially at our age.
We rode around some more and made it up to our break area for a good break.
After some more riding around we headed for my place where Barry took off for his place and I went in for a nap.
