Forest ride
Barry showed up today for a dirt bike ride in the forest, so off we went. Barry needed to use his cell phone so we stopped here at the Guerneville overlook so he could use it. There’s a real good cell phone signal here.
The view from there is the little town of Guerneville. The mist is just that, water vapor from the forest.
And the sky view from that point. A nice warm day, just right.
Once Barry was done with the phone stuff, we rode over to see what brother Tom was doing. He’s cutting his firewood for next year, a madrone tree that had fallen over.
We took off riding from there stopping here at this spring for a drink of water.
We went by the pond that looked real nice.
And we checked out our main spring and got another drink of water.
From there, we rode over to check out the old dirt road that I’ve been working on then went down to another neighbor’s were I hadn’t been to in awhile. We found the guy just driving out past his gate, we had a bull session with him for awhile.
Then we rode over to my cousin’s place and rode down this road that we hadn’t been on for a long time. We weren’t sure it was open and had to clear some rock and sticks out of the way in spots.
We made it down that road to this spot and decided to stop and walk down the road to check it to see if we could make it down.
There was one little tree we could get around, but a little further down there were some bigger trees across the road that we’d need a chainsaw to remove, so we hiked back up to the bikes where I told Barry we’d need to rest up before I could ride the bike back up the hill as I was s bit tired out from hiking that road.
From there, our favorite break area at the top wasn’t far off so I thought we’d just go up there and continue our break.,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,But.
Just before we got there, we ran into this downed madrone tree which we were able to remove with our little wood saws.
And then we made it to the mountain top for a good break.
Then we took off and worked our way back to my place.
Barry is checking out the wood chips, saying he could use some of these.
He took off for his place and I spent the rest of the day hanging out with the chickens, chair hopping.
Nice day.
lots of nice looking daffodils you got there
Hi Ken,
Yes, I like daffodils as all you have to do is plant them and nothing else, no water, no nothing and they just keep on giving, letting you know spring is here. And nothing eats them either.
