Chicken takes off
This morning when I went out to open the main gate to the main road, I looked down after opening the gate and a chicken had followed me out to the main road. It immediately started to go down the road. I tried to stop it and shoo it back but it insisted on going down the road and it disappeared. I hope it comes back tonight to roost.
Forest ride
With things a bit wet from yesterdays rain, I figured the old road wood be a bit muddy so I took my dirt bike for a ride up into the forest instead.
I spotted this big banana slug, about 7 inches long. They like the damp from the rain.
I did go over and check out the old dirt road. I stopped here to check out this water crossing as water was going down the road instead of across it. I’ll need to adjust that.
I made it to the top and this was the view from there.
This was the view from the Guerneville overlook today.
A closeup of the town of Guerneville. You can’t see it from here, but the river goes from left to right on the other side of all the buildings.
Woodcutter
I heard a chainsaw working close by and found Barry cutting firewood.
He was taking a break in his chair.
He’s splitting wood and almost finished doing that.
I rode around some more and eventually returned home for a nap.
Later in the day, I pulled this tarp off what it was covering with intent of repairing the tear in it so it wouldn’t rip anymore.
Some good tape should fix this up. However, I never did get that tarp taped today.
That chicken that took off
When I went out to lock the chickens in for the night, I counted the chickens on the roost to see if that chicken that took off this morning had returned. I have 14 chickens total and they were all on the roost. Great.
Nice day.
