Bike clutch problem
I noticed there was something wrong with the bikes clutch this morning before we took off for a ride. It turned out the clutch cable wire was coming apart, but there were still a few strands left. I loosened up the lever so as not to put too much strain on what was left and decided to go and give it a try. If that gets broken all the way, the ride would be over until I get a new cable. You can see the broken strands by the lever. There were about five good strains left.
Barry was waiting on me and ready to get on with the ride.
Trail cam cards
I needed to pull all the trail cam cards today. We stopped here to get this one while Barry removes some brush on another trail.
Barry wanted to stop here to check out if he could get a tree off a steep part just over the bank.
We stopped here so Barry could remove this small branch that fell in the rain the other day.
And just past that was this one that was a bit larger, but he got it off the road while I watched. Hey, someone has to take the pictures.
Eventually we made it up to our ridge top rest area.
Barry was eyeing my chair and said we needed another one up here as with the rains coming he’d have to take down his hammock soon and put it away for the winter. While we were there we looked up clutch cables online. They would take too long to come, so I’ll get one when I go shopping in a couple of days.
Visiting
From there we rode over to our cousin’s place for a visit. They are in the process of selling their place to the state park and were getting ready to close a deal so we were interested as we are also in the process. They said there were some hiccups, but it looks like things are progressing on the deal.
We shot the bull with them and then took off heading for home, the long way.
Trail cam pictures
This one looks like a coyote. I haven’t seen any of them up here on the trail cams, but knew they were in the area.
We seem to have lots more foxes up here.
This is the first time I’ve seen two foxes go by. the one in the back is a little hard to see.
Nice day.
It’s different … I rarely have just one fox in my yard … it’s always two or three together.
