Forest ride
I heard Barry outside this morning, so I got up and got it going to join him in a dirt bike ride up in the forest.
The water has gone down in the river by Guerneville as the vineyard down there doesn’t have any more flood water in it.
Rolling wood
We were riding around and Barry saw some cut wood by the road above the pond so he rolled them down the hill and they went right for the pond, so he was trying to get them out of the pond. He got most of them out, but a couple of them, he’ll have to wait until the pond drops a bit.
We rode around all over the place and eventually ended up at the top at our break area and sat for awhile taking it easy and enjoying the day. That big black cloud got bigger before we left, but didn’t rain on us.
This is our view from our chairs.
That big black cloud kept getting bigger and bigger and blocked the sun.
Rocks
We stopped here so Barry could throw some rocks off the road.
And we stopped here so Barry could cut this little tree off the road.
We rode around until late in the afternoon, then we went back to my place and Barry took off for his place.
I had a short nap and then headed up to have a look at the dirt road I’ve been working on.
I parked here to work on a ditch to keep the water from going down the road.
The ditch just needed a little shovel work. Car’s tires form little ditches that mess up the big ditch and let water run down the road. I’ll fix that eventually by putting more rock on the ditch crossing the road.
What happens is water comes out of the hillside on the right in several spots, starting at the top by the slide and also comes out along the road until it gets to the ditch crossing. When it rains hard, the water really flows here. It’s important to get the water to flow across the road and off, instead of down the road where it will cause erosion problems.
I rode further up the road to this trouble spot to make some plans to fix this area up tomorrow when I come up to work on the road with my Skiddy.
I need a ditch across the road to get the water to flow across the road and it will need some more rock to fix up the little bit of erosion here.
And I stopped at this ditch to do a bit of shovel work and to make plans to fix this one up better.
It was getting close to dark as I headed for home.
My daffodils are really starting to bloom now.

Nice day.
