Canning
I went over to visit my neighbor Dominique this morning. I found her canning peaches.
These are fresh off the trees.
She has a big ol stove to work on and seems to be enjoying her work.
This is how she moves the jars of peaches around, especially when they are hot.
I don’t remember if she was just starting these or they were just finishing up.
Pickles
I didn’t get any peaches, but I did get a jar of fermented pickles she’d just made which were yummy.
Later
I was outside in the yard when I heard some one calling next door, so I had a look to see who was calling.
I found these tree guys getting ready to go to work on some of Tom’s trees at his driveway entrance.
They just pulled the chipper in and were getting it set up to chip.
The guys are lowering these smaller trees to keep them from hitting the power lines above.
Eventually, Tom showed up. He wanted them to save the tree logs and not cut them up as he has something he wants to do with them.
I spent the rest of the day puttering around the yard.
