De-mudding Skiddy and Checking Out the Quad’s Brake

Rain

It rained a bit this morning, but stopped by the time I got it going and the sun came out.

Skiddy

I got into a little too much mud the other day up in the hills with Skiddy. I got the hoe out and scraped a lot of mud out of the tracks and then used a hose to wash most of it out.

That all made a big mess of dirt so I got the wheelbarrow out and hauled a load to a hole in the yard I’m working on filling up.skiddy

Dozer fueling

Now that I had an easy way to fuel things up, I took ten gallons of fuel over to the dozer and tried out my new pump some more. It worked well, except the soft hose kept trying to suck up the bottom of the fuel container, cutting off the fuel flow.

After fueling, I went on home and cut a piece of plastic pipe to put on the intake and cut some notches  on the end so it won’t suck to the bottom of the plastic container. That should work better.extention4

Quad runner repair

One of my quad runners has been making a brake howling noise for some time now,  I needed to take it apart to have a look at the brake, so I got the tools out to take it apart.quad2

I took it apart and had a look inside the brake drum and used some air to blow it out. I turned the axle a few times and the noise was gone, so I put it all back together.brakes3

Nice day.

I was going to suggest something similar when you mentioned the hose getting suctioned to the bottom. That should take care of it!

You’re going to live forever. All I do is sit around and read. Ha.
