Trail work
The project today was to do some maintenance on this trail so I can ride my smaller quad runner up it as there’s a big tree down up on the hill top that needs a big chainsaw to cut it off the trail and it’s much easier to pack a big chainsaw up the trail on a rig than to carry it.
I parked here and packed my trail working tools on up the trail to the right, to do some work.
I made it up to this sitting spot where I took a break for a bit.
As wide as possible
I need the trail as wide as I can get it to make room for the quad runner to get up here. The trail is just barely wide enough. I moved some dirt from the hillside of the trail to the outside of the trail on the right to square it up and make it as wide as possible. Every inch helps.
That widens out the trail pretty good.
Worst part
This was the worst part of the trail that needed to be repaired. I had to move the rocks and dirt off the trail to clear this part.
That took a bit of work, but that’s much better.
At the top
I cleared the trail to the top of the hill and had a good break sitting on these logs.
With that job done, I walked back down the trail to my rig.
While I was there, the wind came up as it was getting ready to rain soon. I decided to take a joy ride around the property.
At the Guerneville overlook, I could see the rain coming in.
The rain is moving in on the town of Guerneville and would soon be on me too. Good thing this rig has a roof on it as I didn’t bring any rain gear.
I stopped at this spring for some water.
It wasn’t raining on me yet, but as I stopped at this overlook, the rain was moving in on me so I headed for home.
It was only raining real light so far at my house so I let the chickens into the front yard so they could graze.
Nap time
That’s what I did and the rain picked up and that was my day.
