Sunday April 26, 2015 Guerneville CA.
Today seemed like another good day to stay home and do some more yard work and maybe do an evening kayak.
I decided to start by moving some redwood tree mulch to my blueberry patch which also is my potato patch. I noticed the patch wasn’t squared up and if I added some more mulch on one side I could make the patch a bit larger.
All this green stuff greeted me as I went out in the yard today to start my day. In the middle of the picture is my pink climbing rose which you’ll need to click the picture to get a better look at. Behind the tree with the roses in it is a big redwood tree, actually two of them with diameters about five feet across.
Those two big redwood trees are providing the mulch for my garden patch. I’m using my wheel barrel to transport the redwood leaves to the berry patch. The redwood trees are in the middle of all that green stuff behind the wheel barrel.
I moved a half dozen or so loads of this mulch to here. You can see where I added some to the edge to make the patch larger. Some of my potatoes are coming up. The potato plants are in front of the wheel barrel and the blueberry plants are way in the back. I do have potato plants growing in with the blueberry plants. They do well together.
All that work required a good break on the couch and then I puttered around in the yard and before I knew it, it was late afternoon.
I was thinking of going down to Jenner for an evening kayak, but it was too early yet to leave.
So, the lawn mower was there staring at me, so I filled it up with gas. This machine requires a bit of energy to run it, especially in the higher weeds which are just over three feet.
I was doing well making some progress, but after only using maybe a half tank of gas, I was running out of energy to run the thing. The engine died on me in some tall grass and I realized I was real tuckered out and left the mower there and headed for the couch. Boy was I beat for some reason. I think it must have something to do with older age? I used to be able to run a mower all day. :O)
By the time I felt like doing anything it was evening so I stayed home and enjoyed the yard for the rest of the day.
