Blog transfer report

If you are seeing this, you are seeing the transferred blog. I think  most of the stuff is working, but not quite everything yet. The header pics seems to have some blanks in it which I will try to work out once everything else is in shape.  A refresh or two might bring one up. And  some pictures of later posts aren’t showing up, but most of the blog has been recovered.

Trail work

I’ve got a lot of trail work to do this winter so this seemed like a good day to do some work and get some exercise.

I rode a motor bike up this trail.

I stopped at this creek crossing and thought these rocks could use a big rock for a stepping stone to cross the creek when walking.

Big rock

I found a big rock up the creek about 50 feet. I had to roll it to this spot and I added a couple of smaller rocks too.

I continued up the trail heading for a trail I’m working on up on the ridge top. Everything is real lust right now with the rains we’ve been having.

Break time

There’s a chair on the ridgetop at the beginning of the trail I was going to do some work on.

Seemed like a good idea to sit in it for a spell and take a break.

Trail work

Eventually I walked out the trail and started by removing this small little slide on the trail.

I walked out the trail a bit further and worked on widening out this part of the trail, below.

I worked all day, sitting in my chair and working until it started to get too dark. I noticed the stump I saw earlier in the day was starting to look like a bear, but I knew it wasn’t.

I put the tools and chair away on the trail and walked out to where my bike was parked.

Enjoying the evening

There I sat and enjoyed the evening until it started to get too dark. I had to ride home in the semi dark so I just rode slower.

Work in the forest

That big tree I wanted to cut, but my saw wouldn’t start, was still up there. I loaded up the chainsaw and headed that way.

Ditch

I had to stop here and use the shovel on that drainage ditch I made a while back  as it was leaking a bit.

 

Tree fall

Then I had to stop and cut this tree out of the way. It wasn’t there yesterday before the rain.

 

I got that log cut up and out of the way.

 

The big tree

I made it up to my cousin’s place to the big tree.

 

I cut that small log in front and then made a cut in the big log behind it. That should be enough for Skiddy to push it out of the way when I get a chance.

 

Then I rode up to this spot and trimmed some brush out of the right side here.

 

Spring

I stopped  here at this spring for a drink of water. Yesterday’s rain sure brought the spring water volume up a lot. I need a name for this spring.

 

Rotten log

I stopped here and removed this dead log stuff off the road that had rolled down the hill.

 

Break spot

It was a fairly nice day with a few clouds in the sky as I sat in this spot for a break.

 

Another tree to work on

My cousin told me about this tree across this road and the road above it so I headed for it to remove it.

 

First I went up to the upper road and cut the tree up hoping the other part of it would fall down on the bottom road more so it’d be easier to cut up.

 

It only fell down a little but enough to get to it and cut it up.

 

I sat down and took a break before throwing this stuff off the road. At my age, I work and sit and work and sit and I get the job done.

 

That was enough work and I got a lot of exercise and headed on home.

I sat around for the rest of the day with my chickens.

 

Blog transfer

The guy is working on fixing up the last stuff on my blog so I should get it transferred soon. I think he is from India and doesn’t work on weekends or even some of the week days. But he did come in tonight and is getting stuff done.
