Rain, River, Some Visiting and a Bad Headlight

Tuesday December 28, 2021 Guerneville CA.

Rainy day

It was raining lightly as I got it going today. It looked like it was going to be that kind of day.

So after awhile of sitting around the house I decided to go for a ride to have a look at the river and do some visiting.

River

I drove down to the Monte Rio boat ramp to have a look at the river. It was muddy and up from the recent rains.

Not today

If it wasn’t raining I would have been tempted to put my boat in the water and do a bit of kayaking, but not today.

Visiting

From there I drove the short distance up to Charlie’s house.  I found Charlie supervising the contractors that were rebuilding his Mom’s house that had recently burned up a bit from an electrical fire in the attic. Charlie doesn’t like to work too  much so supervising fits him  just fine.

We sat around shooting the bull for an hour or so, talking mostly about old times.

Headlight out

As I was leaving Charlie says I better get my driver’s side headlight fixed as it was out. I thought that strange as I had checked them two days ago when I installed new backup lights.

I drove on home from there.

When I got home I popped the hood to check why the headlight wasn’t working.

I noticed the bad headlight was on just a little bit, both on high and low beams so the headlight wasn’t burned out. I prodded and banged on it’s electrical connector a bit but I couldn’t get it to shine bright.

That all meant the ground wire was likely making a bad connection to cause this problem so I’d have to dig further but not today as it was chilly and raining and I wasn’t into fixing that problem just yet.

The day was almost over anyway so I went back in the house for a warm up and a nap.
