The Rains Just Keep Coming Which Is Ok With Me

Road check

With all the rain we’ve been having lately, it’s necessary to go up and check out the old road I’ve been working on to make sure all the neighbors that live back in the hills can get up and down the hills as for most of them, it’s the only way to get to their homes. If something goes wrong, I’m the one that will get the blame.

And besides, there’s not much else I can do with it raining most of the time.

I headed up through the state park around noon. The first thing I ran into was these sticks that fell off a redwood tree during the wind last night.

Continuing up the hill, the road was doing real good. This section used to be a mess whenever it rained.

During rains, springs pop out of the hills most everywhere. This causes water to run down the road, but with all the rock I put on the road, it’s not causing any damage.

I pulled over here to check this spot out.

Lots of water popping out of the hills in this spot, but it’s being carried across the road with this ditch which was working well.

Here’s a spot that you can see where water is popping out of the hill.

That water is flowing down along the side of the road and across the ditch like it should.

More sticks on the road that I stopped to throw off the road.. Sticks are easy as they don’t require a chainsaw, which I didn’t bring today.

So far, the road is holding up well to all the rains coming in, better than I expected.

Our place

I rode on over to our property to get back down the hill and check out the roads.
The roads on our place are doing real well as they are all out-sloped so don’t get wash outs on them. No problems on our place.

Back home, I checked out the creek that goes by our places and all was good there too. The creek hasn’t come up very high yet this year as the rains storms coming in have been spaced apart rather well, which gives the creek time to go down between storms..
