Wind is up today
This spider had spun this web outside my van’s door last night. Unfortunately, opening the door messed it up good.
Checked out the Elk River
I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do today. The wind was up which didn’t make boating much of an option, but I drove just a short distance from here at the Elk River RV Park to a launch site on the Elk River, just up from highway 101 bridge and had a look at the river as I wanted to paddle down and then back up it. It looked good for a paddle like that, but the wind was blowing too strong up the stream so that was out for the day.
Next I drove to town and stopped in here to talk with Steve and Kevin for a bit.
Checked out the lake
From there I drove over to the lake that is in town and found the two boat launch sites, but again it was just too windy to kayak.
Port Orford Harbor
Next I went down to the Port Orford harbor which appeared to be closed too. Too much wind, so most of the boats stayed in today.
Except this one which was fishing and coming in for the day.
I noticed some people driving in and opening up one of the fish receiving plants but didn’t stay around long enough to see them bring their catch in.
Cutting plywood
Around five I headed back to Steve’s place as he wanted some help cutting plywood for his shop floor.
We got it cut and in place now he has to screw it down.
That was it for a pretty lazy type day. Tomorrow I’m thinking of a hike down to the ocean south of here.
That was my day.
Enjoy your hike today. too bad about the windy day yesterday.
