Skidder maintenance
I noticed the skidder hydraulic oil was on the minimum mark. I got the oil out and a funnel and a chair to stand on so I could pour the heavy five gallon container and filled the tank up to the full mark.
Forest ride
After eating some cherries off the trees, I thought a ride up into the forest would be nice. It’d also be a good time to collect the trail cam’s memory cards.
I rode around for a bit then went down to this spot that has a little water pool under those trees. It’s fed from a spring that is up the hill quite some distance in the back. A plastic black pipe is used to let the water flow down the hill and into the water hole. I picked up the card from the cam at this spot.
Shoulda got pics
I rode around and collected the other 3 cards from the trail cams and eventually made my way down to this spot as I wanted to check out a little hole I saw here a few weeks ago. l hadn’t seen the big can of yams here last time. Believe it or not, the can looked like it was chewed open by an animal and there was still a bit of yam left in the bottom of the can.
I’m not sure what the little six inch deep hole was all about, but I don’t think the animal that broke into the can made it, but some human did. I should of taken some pictures. I will the next time I go there.
I rode around some more then returned back to my place and ate some more cherries.
Trail cam pics
A buck walked on by the trail cam.
And a couple deer are feeding by this little water hole under the tree.
A bobcat walks on by at night on this one.
And a mountain lion goes by the same cam but on another night.
Another deer on another trail cam.
Lots of foxes patrol the roads at night.
I see this opossum often on the trail cams. I’m not sure how it protects itself and stays alive up here in the hills. I don’t think playing possum would save it’s life, but running like hell might, especially down though the trees and brush.
And there’s quite a few rabbits eating the grasses.
Nice day.
