Crawdads
We put our traps out last night. Didn’t do well, only caught about four of them. They just didn’t’ seem to want to get in our traps.
We broke camp and started out on our adventure for the day. We decided to take a back road to where we were headed today. The first place we ended up was at this little lake on a dead end road.
To get back out from that lake we put in our four wheel drive hubs as the road was steep going back out.
When we made it back to the main road, I made a wrong turn and to my surprise we ended back at last nights camp spot. That’s exploring.
We stopped here for a short break and to check the map.
We headed up this road that soon turned to real rocky for quite a few miles.
The road started to get worse the further we went on it.
It got rockier as we went to where we were going in four wheel drive lowest gear and going as slow as we could go as it was real bumpy.
We finally started to get out of the rocky part, but then we got into the brush.
This is why the vans don’t have nice paint jobs. We plowed on through making lots of noise as the brush scrapped on the van’s sides.
At last, we got back to the main road and scooted right along.
We needed a break and found this spot to pull into off the road and decided we’d had enough for the day and decided to camp here.
We were sitting here when Marty says to look behind me.
This young eagle had landed just over our heads and stayed there for awhile.
We had a good day and will continue our exploration tomorrow.
