Forest work
I hopped on the motor bike to ride up into the forest to this spring. The dirt slide finally stopped sliding so I needed to dig this dirt out over the spring one more time.
No camera
Once I got up there I realized I’d forgotten my camera, which I seem to be doing more often lately.
Getting started
Anyway, I found the shovel I have stashed up there and got my chair out and sat down for a bit to contemplate the job.
Digging
Digging this dirt out goes like this. Dig and throw the dirt and rocks out on the road, then, sit down and rest for a bit, then get up and do it again. That was my routine for about four hours of digging today.
I did get most of the dirt out, so the spring is ready to get to the next step, which is, set things up for tapping the spring.
I didn’t want to do any more today as I want to take some video clips of the process, but since I forgot my camera, that was it for now.
I have everything I need to tap this spring, except a stainless steel screen which I need to purchase at the store. I use a stainless steel food strainer for the process as they are easiest to get and cost less than most other options for stainless steel screen.
Nap time
When I was done with that work, I rode on home for a nap and that was pretty much my day.
