Failed To Get the New Main Gate Controller To Work and a Ride In the Forest

Thursday July 11, 2024 Guerneville CA.

Gate work

I got the my new main gate opener the other day, so I got it out and preceded to install it.

Once I got it all installed, I tried it and it didn’t work, just like the old one, so it was time to read the manualgate1

Reading the manual I did find some stuff I needed to do to set up the new one. I worked on getting it going most of the day with no luck. I’ll need to study the manual more and then try it again, but not today as I need a break from it.control2

Forest ride up in the hills

After going in for a nap, I jumped in Hondo and headed up into the forest to take it easy after all that work.

Water pool

I drove by to check out the water pool. It was still full of water and I noted there was a lot of moss growing in the pool for some reason. Much more than in my pond.pool3

Overlook

Then I drove on up to this overlook for a good long break.view4

I made a good long phone call for a couple of hours and noted there was a message saying there was a fire in Occidental, a small town not far from here to the south, so I thought I’d head up higher on the ridge to see if I could spot any smoke.

Pond

On the way, I went past my pond to see how it was doing. The water level had come up an inch or two since I worked on sealing it up a bit the other day. I also got a drink of water from the spring pipe flowing into the pond.pond5

High point

From there I headed up to the highest ridge top to see about that smoke, but I didn’t see any so I guess the fire guys had things under control.vuew6

From there, I headed towards home, but stopped here to trim some brush off the edge of the road that was getting in the way when riding the motor bikes up this hill.brushing7

Nice day.

Any water running through the pipes today?
    Glad the fire was controlled.
