Moving Skiddy

My plan was to move Skiddy back to my house today so I could clean it up a bit and use it there.

But on the way up to get it I noticed there was one pile of rock and dirt in a turn-out that I’d forgotten about and it needed to be deposed of.

Plan

The plan is to move the dirt and rock to this spot in front of the gate and out-slope the road towards the creek which is on the left.

This is looking from the gate. I’ll do part of this road until I run out of the stuff I’m moving. The pile is not far, just out of sight in this picture.

I got to it and got the pile moved and spread out  on the road and then cleaned up the turnout a bit which is on the left of this road.

I spread the material out on the road here. Now the car traffic can pack it in.

Fixing things

That done, I headed back up the road fixing little things along the way.

Back at my rig, I fueled up Skiddy, then went up the hill just a bit and got my cousin to help me move Skiddy back down the hill to my house. I needed a ride back up the hill.

Big rocks

I had her drive Hondo down the hill to my house and I drove Skiddy down stopping to pick up a load of big rocks for a creek crossing down below on our place.

I put the rock in this creek crossing with the other rocks I already had put in there.

My cousin is just learning to drive side by sides, so I suggested we drive on up to her place where we take breaks all the time, that way she’d get some good driving experience.

We had to stop here to move a small tree out of our way.

We sat at the top and enjoyed the view for awhile.

Sunset

The sun is about to go down behind that mountain to our west, so we headed off.

We went back to her place and I headed towards home, stopping at the pond for a bit. It’s looking nice now.
