Hanging around

I spent the day just hanging around the yard and doing a bit of napping today. Just a rest up sort of day.

Fruit stand

I did notice my neighbor Dominique and Tom had set up a fruit stand across the main road to take advantage of the State Park visitors today.

It looked like a good set up. They are both good at this as they both have done the Farmer’s market for a number of years now.

Peaches

They mostly had fresh picked peaches, right off the trees and a few apples too.

I thought of going up into the hills and doing some work, but just taking it easy and resting up seemed like the way to go today and besides, the forest work would keep.

Pay day

I needed to pay the rancher for my beef. After a few failed cell phone tries I got a hold of the guy and headed on down to his ranch to pay him for the beef and of course we shot the bull for a bit before I headed on home for a nap.

The beef is at the butcher’s and I should get it in a couple of weeks.

Hens

Later in the day, I went out to see how my hens were doing. They always hang around hoping to get something to eat. They have a whole yard to feed in so they aren’t starving.

Momma hen

Then I worked on trying to get some pictures of momma hen and her three little peeps which wasn’t easy as they have a lot of cover in their pen. I did get all four of the birds in this one, but they are hard to see. One white and two black little peeps.
