I ran into Tom this morning and he said it’d be a good day to cut the big logs off our neighbor’s road, this afternoon. I said ok, come by later in the day and we’ll go up there and take care of that.
Smoked salmon
In the mean time, I took a sample piece of smoked salmon over to the neighbor who gave me the salmon, to let him try it out to see if he liked it.
He did and it disappeared fast. I’ll be doing some more smoking soon.
Forest work
Later Tom showed up and we rode in his rig up to where Skiddy was parked and cranked it up to warm up a bit.
We drove on down to where the road was that had a few big oak trees that had fallen across the road and blocked it. The road started here at this spring area.
Tom made some cuts in the big tree so I could push the logs off the road which I did with Skiddy’s help.
We had two more trees like that one which we cleared off the road. That was all we wanted to do for now. I’ll be back later to smooth the road out to make it better to travel on, but not today.
