Fueling Skiddy, Visiting a Neighbor for Maps and Planning With the Park Guys

Fueling Skiddy

Skiddy’s fuel gauge was looking pretty low, so I got out the fueling stuff to fill up the tank. I have an electric pump so it was fairly easy to do.  A good thing because it’s real hard to hold these blasted modern gas containers up in the air very long to fell the tank and it took four five gallon containers. The electric pump makes quick and easy work of it.fuel

Visiting a neighbor

I needed some info on another neighbor’s acreage and I knew this neighbor had some maps on it, so I went up to visit and caught him home and got what I needed to know about the property. I’m looking for a spring on that property.

When I got ready to leave I went outside to hop on my dirt bike, but it started to rain pretty good. I got on and rode to some big redwood trees nearby, to wait the shower out and didn’t get very wet.clouds

Back home, it was nap time and I puttered around the yard until late afternoon.

Park guys

I needed to chat with some park workers about some work we are going to do moving some rock onto a road to repair it in the park, so I took my car up into the park to meet them as they were getting off work.

I got there before they did, but had a nice chat with a young lady that was at the shop.

Eventually the guys came in and we discussed the project and made some plans to do the project in a couple weeks.

Nice day.

Rain, Forest Ride and Getting Some More Rock For the Bulkhead

Sunday October 27, 2024 Guerneville CA.

Rain

It didn’t’ rain much, but just as I was ready to go for a ride in Hondo, it showered for awhile. I don’t have my winter windshield in yet, so I waited for about a half hour for it to mostly stop before I took off.clouds8

I rode up this road to my cousin’s place as I wanted to see what they knew about two forty acres parcels I want to hunt up a spring on, but I just missed them as they’d just left.road1

Two forties

I rode over to where the two forties were and had a look. It’s a real steep area that will be hard to explore, so I need to find out just exactly where the two forties are before I look.

On the way back to  my place, I ran into this little downed tree and cut it off the road so I could pass by.tree2

I didn’t go far when I ran into this one. It seems to be getting lower and lower as time passes, so I stopped to cut it out before it falls and blocks the road.tree3

It was nap time when I got home so I did that and took it easy for a bit doing some chair hopping around the yard with the chickens.

One more thing

I wanted to do one more thing today and that was to ride up into the hills with Skiddy and get a load of rocks for my bulkhead in the creek.

I rode on up this road with Skiddy.road4

And through here.road5

And up this way, where I made a right turn to head up the hill.road6

I got my scoop of rock and made it back down to my house and dumped the rock in this bulkhead.rock7

Then I  jumped down on the rock and moved some of it around by hand leveling it out a bit, putting rocks where they didn’t go when I dumped them in.rocked9

The rock is looking pretty good, another load or two should do it.rocked10

Nice day.
