Forest work

I had a little project to do up in the forest today with Skiddy so I drove on up to where it was parked and got it started up to warmed up a bit.

Two pools

Then I drove the short distance down to Two Pools. I wanted to build up the sides a bit as they were a bit low and I wanted to level and smooth off a place to camp by them for future park use.

Here’s what the pools looked like before I got started.

Sides build up

I  moved dirt around them to  make the sides a bit higher.

Camp spots

And moved some dirt around in this spot and leveled it off a bit.

That should make it level enough for a camp spot or two for future use.

The camp area is large enough and level enough for several camp spots now.

Short walk

That done, I drove Skiddy back up the hill and parked it in a different spot so  had to walk the short distance down this road to where Hondo was parked.

Hondo is parked just around the corner.

After that, I rode Hondo over to some neighbor’s thinking I might catch them home for a bull session, but no one was home.

Garden

My brother Tom planted this garden in my yard mostly for stuff to sell at the farmer’s market.

He mentioned I should make some pickles.

But there weren’t any cucumbers yet on the plants, only blooms.

Pickled plums

But there were a lot of plums ripe in the yard, so I went out and picked enough to make a jar of refrigerator pickled plums. They should be ready in about a week.

The chickens were out grazing in the yard.

But not these ones, yet, just too little for that.

They’ll be out there soon enough as long as i  keep them safe for now.
