Ride in the forest
Barry came by so we took off for a ride. We rode around some and collected all the game cam cards.
Clutch cable snaps
We were about as far away from my place as we could be going up a hilly road when my clutch cable finally broke. We were headed up to my cousin’s house for a visit so I caught up with Barry at their place. I was able to keep gong as I can still shift if I’m careful.
We had a good visit with my cousin.
View
This is the view from their place where we sat out by a table for the visit.
No clutch start up
Without a clutch the bike is a bit hard to start. Most of the ride home is down hill. I put it in the highest gear so it’d roll and headed down the hill and started the bike on compression and made it home ok.
Barry pulled in right after I did.
New clutch cable
I’d ordered a new clutch cable about a week ago and was expecting it soon, so I went in the house and checked the tracking on it and it said it would be delivered today by the post office.
Bulkhead work
There was enough time to do an hour or so work on the bulkhead so I did some work prepping things for the repair.
Bike repairs
It was late in the day and I expected the mail delivery any time, so I got out the tools and took the old cable off so I’d be ready when the new one arrived.
You can see the clutch cable was broken all the way through.
No new cable today
I removed the cable and sat around waiting for the mail delivery, but it never came. I checked the tracking on my phone and it said they couldn’t deliver it and I had to go pick it up at the post office which I’ll have to do tomorrow as they were closed by the time I got the notice.
Game cam pictures
This buck has been hanging around for some time now. I noticed it’s back had some white spots. Maybe it got attacked by a mountain lion or something that would do this.
The same buck at our pond getting a drink of water.
Some wild pigeons bathing at the pond.
And a couple of crows getting a bath.
And this grey squirrel stops to eat some acorns.
Nice day.
Nice buck! I will not mention the skunk in case it rubs off on me. So far I’ve been very lucky not to see one.
Nice wildlife sightings. Hope your part arrived.
perhaps cat jumped buck, likley fighting another buck
