Trail work
I was hoping to get this stump dug out today and off the pipe line trail. This is were I finished up yesterday.
Leverage
I brought up a big bar and some blocks so I could get some leverage on the stump to lift it up a bit. By lifting it up a bit, I could tell if and where there were still some roots to cut. Turned out there was only a small one about an inch in diameter left to cut and I did.
The stump is freed up and ready to move.
I put the block of wood under it to help move it once it was freed up.
It’s ready to move off the trail.
Its’ heavy, so it needed some help getting it to move off the trail.
That’s better. The pipe in the ground is not buried very deep as I couldn’t get a machine in here when we installed the water main from our water tanks about thirty years ago.
So, part of what I’m trying to do is put more dirt over the swallow pipe as I work on the trail. The chair is one of the more important tools as it takes a lot of rest to get this stuff done at my age.
I moved a lot of the stump dirt to where the chair is as the pipe was showing there.
This part of the trail is all fixed up. I’d planned to do some more on the trail today, but the ol body and back just said no.
I rode on home for a much needed nap.
Nice day.
That is a BIG stump!! It seems there is always ONE more root to cut! The trail looks great!!
