Monday September 19, 2022 Guerneville CA.
It was supposed to rain again today but it didn’t.
But there were some nice clouds in the sky for the first part of the day.
Old van’s ignition switch replacement
That was my project for the day. I thought it would be an easy job to just take the old switch off and install the new one,…………..but.
That’s not the way it went.
I got the wire socket off with the wires and was able to get the new switch attached to that.
The mistake I made was putting the new key cylinder in before I installed the unit in the dash. With the new key cylinder installed the unit would not go through the hole in the dash.
Now I had to figure out how to get the key cylinder out of the unit. I tried several things but just couldn’t do it. Off to the internet for me and I finally figured it out and was able to get the key cylinder off and the new unit installed in the dash.
Time for a break and some chair hopping around the yard sitting in the sunshine and I got a nap in there somewhere too.
Checking for storm damage
In the evening I decided to go up into the hills on the dirt bike and see how many trees fell across the roads during yesterday’s rain.
Another easy one, just some little branches.
I stopped here at the overlook for a break and to enjoy the view.
Then I rode on over to this trail and walked out it about a half mile or so.
And then back to the beginning where I sat and enjoyed the day for a spell.
Checking the waterfall
I was wondering if there was enough rain yesterday to make the waterfall flow, so I rode on other to have a look see.
Here’s the waterfall but no water flowing yet, other than a dribble.
I hopped back on the dirt bike and headed down the trail for home and got there just before dark.
Nice day.
It surprises me just how many trails there are. You do a great job keeping them open.
Trail ride days always seem to be nice days. Love the view!
