Bulldozer work
Around noon, I rode up to where the dozer was parked and tried to start it, but no key. I went on home the short distance and got one.
After letting the dozer warm up a bit, I turned it around on this narrow road and headed down to the spot I was going to repair today.
Big old stump
It’s an old slide from a few years ago that had some big stumps stuck in it. This is a pretty big redwood tree stump that I had a hard time digging out. It’s bigger than it looks in this picture and didn’t really want to move so I kept digging at it.
I’m making progress and it’s just starting to move a little.
I won
I finally popped it out onto the road and pushed it over the side to get it out of the way.
Then I worked on cleaning the road up and smoothing it out a bit.
It’s looking pretty good. I out-sloped it so it will drain when it rains.
The finished product. I will do a bit more work on it later to get it just right, after it rains a bit which it is supposed to do tomorrow.
My next project was down the road a short distance, so I drove on down there.
Big Old log
I need to move this big fir tree log as it’s in the way of the road for big trucks to get past.
Helpers
Jim and his dog were helping me today, throwing roots off the road and just helping when they could.
I worked the big log down onto the road with the dozer, carefully, and then pushed it down the road a bit to get it out of the way.
Here’s a good place for it, I pushed it into the little ravine, out of the way.
Those were the two main things I wanted to do today. I did some more work here and there for about another hour, then parked the dozer and went on home for the day and did some chair hopping around the yard.
The sky is clouding up, so maybe we will get that rain tomorrow.
Nice day, playing with big toys.
Nice to have a little dozer when you need one.
