Starting problems
I headed on up into the hills today with Hondo. I rode around some checking out some roads as there was a big storm coming in soon.
I stopped Hondo in a spot and when I went to start it again, it wouldn’t start. I usually start it by stepping on the foot brake and turning the key to start it, but no go.
Eventually, I put it in park and it started right up. Somethings wrong with the brake thing to start it.
Clouds
As long as it starts I continued my ride around the hills checking stuff out and stopped at the top for this picture of the big storm starting to come in.
Rocks
I stopped here to throw these rocks off the road. There always seems to be lots of sticks and rocks to throw off the roads.
Trees
And trees come down across the road as fast as I cut them out.
Brush
And, of course there is always lots of brush to cut off the roads too. I stopped here to cut some of it to keep it back off the road.
It’s a never ending task to keep the forest stuff off the roads.
Eventually, I headed home for a nap.
Fixing the starting problem
I got the repair book out for Hondo and did a bit of reading. I checked the fuses for the brake lights as that has something to do with the starting procedure, stepping on the brake pedal to start it.
I checked them all out, but that wasn’t the problem.
Since the fuses were all good, I checked the brake pedal’s switch and found the spring that goes to the brake light switch was off, so the brake switch wasn’t working which won’t let it start by stepping on the brake pedal.
I put the spring back on and bent it just enough so it shouldn’t come off again.
Nice day.
