Started the day with a physical therapy session
The rains have finally started around here. They are late this year, but it looks like it’s turned on now.
I had a physical therapy session this morning I went for my back, so at least I wasn’t losing a day kayaking, just because of the rain.
The therapy session went well. I have a nice lady showing me some exercises and teaching me a bit about back problems. She’s really very gentle, but I have some real hurts.
Blog publishing problem
When I got home, I checked to see if any progress had been made on my blog publishing problem, but none had and it’s the weekend coming up, so I’m not going to be able to publish this until it does get fixed.
So I wasted away the day researching the Kofa Refuse in Arizona, where I hope to be soon. I’m hoping I’ll be in good enough shape to hike around in the Kofa when I get there?
House work, not my favorite thing to do
I was also planning to do some house work, but that therapy session caused a muscle in my leg to cramp, which hurt real good, so I didn’t feel like doing that. I’m not a house work type person anyway. I’d rather work in the yard. To be honest, my house is more like a shop with tools and supplies scattered all over the place to keep them out of the weather. That’s just the way it is. Not a good place to entertain, but it is a good place to live, just the same.
It’s been raining all day long, sometimes real hard. I just went out to check the rain gauge, which is just a five gallon bucket. I’ve found that the five inch rain gauges are useless around here as when it rains, it can really rain.
The bucket had about six inches of rain in it so far. I hope it fills it up. :O) Of course, that might cause the river to flood, but I’m lucky my great grandpa, whose house I live in didn’t build in the flood plan. I thank him often for that. :O)
My Mon Made me a bum
While I’m at it, I also thank my Mom for giving me the house. She sorta made me a bum, as I didn’t have to go to work to pay for it. I’m real thankful for her doing that. :O)
Then I looked in the creek that flows by my house to see if there was any water in it yet. Nope, not yet. These storms still have a few days to go, so it should get to flowing soon.
More good things
When I came back in the house I decided to try my back ice pack on my hurting cramp area in my leg, as it was still hurting quite a bit. Boy, that sure helped that out. I should of done that sooner.
This rain is supposed to be here for awhile so I may not be able to kayak for a bit, but if it stops for a bit, I’ll be out there.
That’s it for another day.
