Mess cleanup
I needed to clean up all the wild plum tree brush I cut up yesterday.
I made little piles so I can drag it about a 150 feet to my brush pile, just up the driveway.
That didn’t take as long as I thought it would but it did wear me out a bit.
Tom will be by soon with his tractor to dig out all these little plum tree stumps.
There were some clouds up in the sky that helped keep the sun off me while I moved those brush piles. This was the view of the sky as I sat in a chair waiting for Tom to come by with his tractor.
I didn’t get much of a break before he showed up.
He got right to work and I helped by moving stuff out of his way as he dug it up.
The little stumps weren’t too hard to dig up, but he dug up a big root off one of the close by redwood trees that gave him some trouble.
After we got all the stumps out of there, he flattened it out as best he could. I’ll have to bring some rock in to make it better, but it’s ok for now. We still have to haul all the stumps away, maybe tomorrow as today, I’m beat.
I let the chickens out and they went right for the stumps to find some goodies to eat.
I needed a good rest after that so I had a good break.
Did a bit of welding too
A bit later I came back outside and was chair hopping around the yard when I decided to weld up some channel iron for the bridge repair. I welded the smaller pieces together to make them long enough for what I need. That’s a good start as I need more of them.
I sat around as the sun went down behind the hills to the west.
Nice day.
seems like you’re a man in need of a woodchipper and surprised you don’t have one. Always enjoy your blog.
What do you do with your brush pile? Just let it be a brush pile? Does it not get very high?
