Camp Site Hunting By the Creek

Wednesday October 2, 2024 Last Chance Creek Plumas National Forest CA.

The beaver pond

The beaver pond has so many reflections in it this morning that it was hard to see the pond.pond1

We were camped under the trees and the sun wasn’t getting through, so we broke camp early and drove on down to this intersection and got some sun before taking off to explore for the day.sun2

We were exploring along the creek to look for new camp spots or anything else that looked interesting.

While driving along, we spotted a small gate in the fence so stopped and went through the gate to see where it went as it looked like it was headed towards the creek. We ended up in this big meadow that the creek ran around.vans3

We drove around the  meadow until we hit the creek than drove around it following it down stream.creek4

We stopped here and decided this would be a good place to camp, but the sun was too hot right now.vans5

We moved the van’s up on the hillside under the big trees for some shade and will return to the other spot by the creek when the sun goes down.vans6

This was our view from our camp on the hillside. The creek runs in the willows out there.meadow7

It was a fairly nice looking creek with quite a bit of water in it.creek8

This was our spot out of the sun for the day.vans9

Walk

Later on in the day, Marty and I went for a little walk down along the creek, through here.walk10

And through here. Marty turned back here and I walked a bit further checking out the creek as it was a real nice looking one.creek10

I’d say the creek was real scenic.creek12

I went down through here, picking my way as I went through the willows.creek13

I made it to here where I turned around and started back taking my time.creek14

Camp

The sun finally went down so we moved back to this spot by the creek for the night and it’s also a spot that will get early morning sun.camp15

Nice day.
