Thursday October 3, 2024 Last Chance Creek Plumas National Forest CA.
Water
We were in need of drinking water so we headed on over to a place where there is a spring to get water.
We loaded up the water and that should be enough for the rest of this trip.
Exploring
Then we were off looking for a place we’d been before to put the crawdad traps in the water and camp. We looked for the spot, but there are a bunch of unmarked roads and we couldn’t find the spot.
After looking for quite awhile we pulled over here in the shade for a nap.
We drove down to the end of the road we were on and decided to camp in this spot.
Marty had to mend his chair that broke on him.
Walk
I went for a walk down along the creek and around the meadow.
The meadow was fairly lush with springs and green grass.
The creek was real nice too, about four feet deep here.
I continued my walk around the meadow.
I went by these cows grazing on the grass. Looks like the little one is getting milk.
I headed back towards camp, at the other end of this meadow.
On the way, I spotted this old train track. There used to be a train in here to log the area and this was at the end of the track where they loaded logs on the train cars.
Old Broken Down Tractor Meadow
We found this old tractor here, thus the name of this meadow.
Camp
We made camp for the night here by the creek. Another nice peaceful area.
Nice day.
