Repairs
Even though chickens are small they can really tear things up.
Rodent proof feeder
They broke the opening trigger somehow so I need to repair it. This is a rodent proof feeder that is shut at night and the chickens can open it in the morning to get the feed.
Opener
Somehow they snapped the board right in two so I need to find a little board and replace the broken one.
Ready to go
Finding the little board took the longest but once I found one I screwed it together and it was fixed. The chickens stand on the trigger and it opens. There’s a weighted can on a pulley above that opens the door when the latch is triggered.
I did some chair hopping and puttering around the yard.
Trail work
And late in the afternoon I rode the quad up into the forest for some exercise.
Here’s where I parked to work on the trail.
I’ll start by cutting that log off the trail with the chainsaw.
Once I had to log off the trail it was time to do some trail work with the Pulaski.
I worked on that long enough to get some exercise, about two hours and then rode on down this trail towards home.
The rest of the evening was spent chair hopping and enjoying the nice evening and I went in when it started to get dark.
Nice day.
