It’s Always a Good Day For a Ride In the Forest

Bike ride in the forest

I was going to go up and work on the spring today, but Barry drove in with his truck and motorbike in the back.

So, I got my gear and joined him for a ride in the forest today.

We rode through these wild flowers still blooming.barry1

We got stopped by this log across the road. Barry tried to move it, but it took both of us to move this one as it was heavy.log2

It seemed a bit smoky out today, looking south. It was supposed to be hot today, but there was a good cool breeze blowing, so it was real nice out.smokey3

We stopped here so Barry could sample the spring in this area.barry4

But first we  had to  move this downed tree out of the way to get to the spring.tree5

We stopped at this spring, the one I just started to work on and this is the one I was going to work on today. Barry was sampling all the springs on the hill today.spring6

We were over on my cousin’s place and stopped to remove this old rotten log. Lucky it was rotten and light so we were able to move it.log7

Break spot

We made it up to our rest spot and took a good break.view8

After that, we took off for some more riding.riding9

We rode around a bit and then stopped here at our main spring that is used for water for our houses.spring10

Tom’s garden

On the way home, we stopped at Tom’s garden to see what was growing. We were thinking about some peaches, but they were still too green.garden11

We headed for my house from there and Barry took off for his home and I went in for a nap.

I took it easy for the rest of the day.

Late in the day, I rode on over to put Tom’s chickens away for the day. They were on the roost. I collected the eggs and locked them in for the night to keep the predators away.chickens12

Nice day.

What a great ride. Lots of trees and logs to move on that trail. Good thing you went.
