Forest ride

I went for a ride up into the forest this morning to kill some time.

I stopped here to rest for a bit at this overlook. A nice day, but a bit cool as it was 28 degrees F. last night, or I should say, this morning when I got up.

I went over to the road I’m repairing to check some erosion. I stopped here and got out to have a look at the erosion.

Eroded

This erosion happened a few years ago. It’s pretty bad but is stabilized and just needs some repair to fix things up. I was just looking today.

I went out and went through this gate to check on the recent rock slide to made sure it was still open for the neighbors to get by.

l went down this road into the park to check on the slide which was still doing good and was open.

Visiting

From there, I worked my way back up into the hills and up to the ridge top where my cousin lives. I spent most of the afternoon visiting cousin’s that were up for the Thanksgiving holidays.

We had a good visit.

Headed for the hills

I was headed up to my cousin’s place today to give her son a ride around the forest. He grew up, up here in the hills and he was visiting for the holidays.

I went up to my cousin’s place to get him, but he was over at a neighbor’s, target practicing, so I headed over there.

I got to the house, but no one was there, but shortly a truck came into the yard from down below.

I hadn’t talked with Logan for quite some time and he’d done some growing up since then.

He knew quite a bit about the goings on around the hills as he and his brother played all over them in their younger times.

We rode all around and eventually stopped at the Guerneville overlook for a look.

From there we rode on over to our place and stopped at the overlook, here, for a bit.

And from there, we worked our way back to his Mom’s house where I did some visiting until almost dark. The sunset from their place looking to the west.
