John Deere

My blade for Skiddy was ready to pick up at John Deere. They fixed part of it but not the intermittent problem that needed to be fixed the most. If the problem persists, I will fix it myself as it’s not that big of a deal, but I wanted to get it fixed under warranty as it’s a new blade and should work without problems. So much for warranty.

I pulled into their repair yard to load the blade on the trailer.

I paid the bill and we got the blade loaded on the trailer for transport to my place.

Once home, I got the blade unloaded and it was nap time.

Forest work

A bit later in the day, I drove Hondo up into the hills after loading up my chainsaw and the loopers.

I drove up this road to do some trimming of brush hanging over the road.

I stopped here to trim the brush by the door off the road.

And I trimmed any sticks like this one off the road that Skiddy might run into. I also wanted to get them out of the way for the dirt bikes.

I trimmed for a couple hours then went on home for the day.

Thursday October 17, 2024 Guerneville CA.

I was going to hook up my trailer to my car and go get my blade that is being fixed at the repair shop this morning but Barry showed up for a dirt bike ride, so off we went heading up into the forest in the hills.

We rode around a bit then Barry headed down the back road where we ran into the Goat Lady working her goats. She has over a hundred of them. She raises them for meat.

We started to ride into her place as I wanted to talk with her, but she cut us off at the gate as she didn’t want her guard dogs to get used to people and not do their job.

We had s good chat with her. I’m supposed to load her pickup with dirt the next time I bring my Skiddy up into the hills.

We took off from there and rode around some more, eventually ending up at our break area at the top of the ridge, here.
