Garden

My brother Tom planted this garden in my yard mostly for stuff to sell at the farmer’s market.

He mentioned I should make some pickles.

But there weren’t any cucumbers yet on the plants, only blooms.

Pickled plums

But there were a lot of plums ripe in the yard, so I went out and picked enough to make a jar of refrigerator pickled plums. They should be ready in about a week.

The chickens were out grazing in the yard.

But not these ones, yet, just too little for that.

They’ll be out there soon enough as long as i  keep them safe for now.

Shopping day

I needed some stuff so I rode on over to the shopping centers today and got it done.

Have you ever thought that if we didn’t have plastic cards we would all have to carry around a lot of cash and there’d likely be lots more robberies.

I got home and put all my stuff away and put some new stuff on my bed and crawled in for a nap.

Hens

In the evening I went out to put the chickens away for the night. These hens are on the roost for the night.

Chicks

I checked on the hen with the little chicks. She wound up with four of them and you can see some of them peeping out from under her if you look carefully.

Berries

I noticed the wild blackberries are starting to ripen up so I ate some of them.

And the mulberries aren’t far behind, they just need to turn black to ripen up.
