Skiddy’s blade repair

John Deere gave me a new valve for Skiddy’s six way blade as they didn’t fix it when I brought in to them when it was under warranty. After they looked at the blade, they said they couldn’t find anything wrong with it so it didn’t get fixed and when I used it again it was still messed up.

Anyway, after complaining, they gave me a new valve that I had to put in which turned out to be pretty easy.

Here’s the six way blade that needs repaired with the new valve.

And here’s the new valve that I have to install on the blade after removing the old defective one that’s inside the blade.

Here’s the old valve that I need to take off the blade. I took pictures and marked all the hoses before taking it off.

I got the old valve out. Good thing I marked the hoses.

Then I had to change all the hose fittings to the new valve.

I got it all back together, but didn’t test it out as Skiddy is up in the hills.

I  needed a nap after that.

Blackberry vines

A bit later in the day, I got out the loopers and cut blackberry vines in this area as they were taking over. I worked on that for about an hour.

I got lots of vines cut although it doesn’t look like it.

After that I rode my side by side up into the hills for a ride around and that was it for the day.

Not much going on today, so I took the day off chair hopping around the yard with the chickens.

Waiting

I have several chickens sitting on eggs that should hatch out one of these days, but not today.

I have four broody hens and only three sets of eggs, so there’s quite a squabble with two of the hens fighting over which gets to sit on the eggs each day. I guess it doesn’t matter as long as one of them sits on the eggs to keep them warm.
