I got a late start again today. I decided to go check out the old dirt road to see what I thought of the new water crossings as they’ve had some time to settle in from cars using them. I traveled up the old road.
I had to adjust this crossing with a shovel. Most of the water crossings looked good……..But.
I will go over all of them once more to make them even better. I figured I’d do that as the first time is mostly really a rough out and going over them again when I’m fresh is how to do them right.
I continued on the road and went over to our property.
I stopped at this overlook for a bit to enjoy the day.
There’s lots of wild flowers starting to bloom.
Eventually I moved down this road to go collect all my trail cam cards.
I picked up a trail cam card at the pond.
And I opened this spring pipe to clean it out so it works better.
I stopped here at the Guerneville Overlook to have a look.
The little town is where you see most of the houses. And the Russian River flows by the town which you cannot see from up here.
And the scotch broom is really getting into full bloom.
I continued on collecting the other two trail cam cards and then worked my way home.
Nice day.

I didn’t do much yesterday as I was a bit itchier than normal from my corn allergy. Eating makes me itch a lot and it’s worse if there is any type of corn in what I eat or drink.
So I just hung out with the chickens in the yard and did a lot of napping.
Today
Today started out a lot like yesterday and because all the itching cut into my sleep a lot, I mostly stayed in bed today.
Doing something
But eventually, I got restless and decided to ride my dirt bike up into the park to see if I could catch one of the guys in the shop, just before quitting time.
The guy I wanted to chat with wasn’t around, but I was able to talk with another guy instead so took care of that.
I parked my motor bike here. I’ve been going into this park since I was a little kid and we played a lot in it. That was a time before the park got so popular. We had it mostly to ourselves in those days and they closed it down during the winter to most people. Now, it’s one of the most popular state parks around. Most everyone working there, knows me, so I can pretty much do as I please. :O)
Bike ride
After that I was going for a bike ride up on our place and decided to go on up this road to one of our neighbors where I could cross over to our property.
I went by this old place. I used to know the old lady that ran the place when I was a kid.
Margaret was a world famous potter. She held potting classes during the summer to make her living. She was known for having some pretty wild parties up there with her students as most of her students where hippyish types.
I continued riding on up the road to the top where my neighbors lived.
I found them home so shot the bull with them for a bit. Then I supervised as they repaired a flat tire from their trailer.
Eventually, it was their dinner time, so I left and continued on towards our property, just ahead a bit.
When I got close to our place, I changed my mind and rode on down the old dirt road I’ve been working on to see how my crossings were doing.
The water crossings were looking pretty good. I think I need to come back with Skiddy and cut just a bit more out of them to be sure water won’t cross over them and go down the road.
I continued on down the road and eventually rode on into the park and on through it.
Kiosk
The volunteers have been working on the kiosk, building a new one as the old one got smashed by some drunk drivers running their truck though it, taking off the top. Fortunately, they did this during the night so no one got injured, but the truck did get damaged enough, which they abandoned in the park.
Nice day.

There are over a hundred pictures that are served up randomly every time you visit or change pages. They are of earlier pictures of interest and also some just to remind me of things.
A Sony AX33 4K, a video camera that takes stills too. What am I doing with that? I take pictures from my Kayak a lot. I found I was missing interesting shots, because my pic was being processed in my camera, before it would let me take another pic. Since I like to take what I call action stills, I bought this camera to take videos, that I could make stills out of, but, as a bonus, this camera also came with buttons to just take stills and that's what I mostly do, unless something is real interesting or too far away for my still zooms. My digilat zoom setting for video goes to two hundred x, and sometimes I need that, but usually, I only use the 10x lens zoom. Because this camera is HD and 4K, the quality has to be real good and it has a lot of stabilizers on it which really helps out a lot for taking pics on the water.
The other thing it has that is a must is a view finder and I had to buy Sony's top of the line cam to get it. This is a must for taking pics on the water, as you must hold the camera as still as posible and putting that eye piece to the eye forms a tripod with your arms that helps a lot. The eye piece is also a must as it works way better than a LED screen to see what you are taking a picture of in the daylight as the LED screens wash out easily in sunlight.
I also have another video camera, a Canon VIXIA G30. I use them both to mostly take stills. The Sony takes higher resolution stills than the G30. That was a bit of a disappointment as I bought the G30 to replace an older camera I dunked in the river, but then had to buy the Sony to get higher still picture resolution that the G30 was lacking.
